Youth Programs

Little Kids Jiu Jitsu (ages 4-7)

At Wrecking Ball, we feel it is necessary to provide a safe, nurturing environment for children to exercise, learn martial arts and form friendships. We have an even greater responsibility to lead them in a positive direction so that they can become respectful and responsible citizens of our community.  We take pride in doing the best we can to instill in your child the seven principles of a Black Belt:

Self Control: The ability to control emotion when faced with a variety of challenges.
Discipline:  The willingness to obey and respect authority.
Modesty:  Moderating your own actions to avoid attracting attention to yourself. Discouraging boastful behavior when successfully accomplishing goals.
Courtesy:  Promoting courteous behavior and reinforcing polite behavior.
Integrity:  The belief that each child must have a sense of honesty and truthfulness. Every person should have a sense of responsibility for their actions.
Perseverance:  Each child should maintain steady persistence in their course of action when accomplishing goals. In spite of difficulty, obstacles or discouragement, they continue trying their best.
Indomitable Spirit:  Reinforce in each child the sense that they can never be conquered or overcome by negative or counterproductive influences.

Youth Jiu Jitsu & Muay Thai (ages 7-13)

Children will continue to be taught by the seven principles of a black belt in our youth programs. These skills are essential in helping them grow into well-rounded young adults. We acclimate kids to an active, healthy lifestyle and build their character, self-esteem and interpersonal skills through our daily after school programs. Children will learn the skills of jiu jitsu and muay thai through a series of techniques, drills and sparring which provide them with essential self-defense skills. We also provide the opportunity to participate on our competitive youth jiu jitsu team which travels to local and national competitions providing the student the opportunity to compete for medals and swords. We also hold quarterly belt ceremonies where belts and stripes are awarded to children for skill level improvement and dedication to their training.

 

 Adult Programs

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

The fighting strategy of Brazilian jiu jitsu (BJJ) is designed to equip a physically smaller or weaker individual with an effective method of defending against a larger and stronger attacker. Besides being one of the ultimate forms of self-defense, jiu jitsu is also a very competitive sport and a necessary skill of mma fighters.  Brazilian jiu jitsu is one of Wrecking Ball’s core training programs and we actively compete as a team in competitions across the country.  Our BJJ program is recognized for its dynamic integration of judo, wrestling, gi and no-gi jiu jitsu all designed to provide our students with superior grappling training.

Muay Thai

Wrecking Ball provides instruction on all aspects of traditional Muay Thai training spanning from high intensity exercise programs to ring and cage courses for the competitive-minded student. Our Muay Thai training methods are renown for their aggressive style and unblemished techniques that utilize all of Muay Thai’s weapons – the fists, elbows, knees, kicks and most importantly… your mind. Wrecking Ball provides a safe and fun environment to explore the many health and competitive benefits that Muay Thai can offer.

Boxing

The Wrecking Ball Fight Facility offers boxing lessons for all skill levels and all ages. Our boxing program will teach you how to perfect your stance, punches, defense and guards so you can box like a pro. Boxing is also recognized as one the best workouts for both males and females who wish to lose weight, build strength, relieve stress and get in the best shape of your life.

Mixed Martial Art

Mixed martial arts (MMA) encompasses all the disciplines of martial arts including striking, submissions, takedowns and throws with the goal of creating the ultimate martial artist. Whether you are eager to get into the cage or just want to get a great workout… this is the class for you!

Strength & Conditioning

Our Strength and Conditioning program focuses on numerous aspects of fitness to maximize performance abilities. Coach Adam Mount  designs his programs around cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy. This program utilizes all four metabolic pathways (phosphogentic, glycolytic, lactate and oxidative) to develop explosive power and the ability to maintain strength over longer distances.  We train our athletes with dynamic functional movements that allow them to optimize strength and perfect their overall fitness.

Personal Training

Designed and tailored to your skill level and needs, we offer personal training in jiu jitsu, muay thai, boxing and mma. We will select techniques, strategies and drills that are most suited to the needs of each individual client. The personal instruction allows for customized martial arts study that focuses on enhancing strengths, minimizing weaknesses and developing a working knowledge of multiple techniques that would normally take years to acquire in a formal class setting.
